NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR PROPOSED LOCAL LAW ENTITLED “A LOCAL LAW PROVIDING REAL PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTIONS FOR VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS AND AMBULANCE WORKERS.” PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Chatham shall hold a public hearing on Monday, February 12, 2024 beginning at 6:45 PM at Tracy Memorial Village Hall, 77 Main Street, Chatham, NY, 12037 for the purpose of taking public comment on a proposed local law entitled “A Local Law Providing Real Property Tax Exemptions for Volunteer Firefighters and Ambulance Workers.” The proposed law would adopt within the Village of Chatham real property tax exemptions provided for volunteer firefighters and emergency medical personnel in accordance with Section 466-a of the New York Real Property Tax Law, of ten percent of the assessed value of the qualified person’s primary residence. At such public hearing, all interested persons shall have the opportunity to be heard.
