The next regularly scheduled Planning Board meeting will take place at the Tracy Memorial Village Hall, 77 Main Street, Chatham, NY 12037 on Monday, May 20, 2024 at 7pm.  Please note that this month’s meeting is being held on the 3rd Monday of the month instead of the usual 4th Monday of the month due to Memorial Day Observance on 5/27.   This meeting is open to the public and all are encouraged to attend. Agenda is TBD at this time, and the public hearing for application #2024-015, 116 Hudson Ave, currently remains open.

 NOTICE OF INVITATION FOR SEALED BIDS, VILLAGE OF CHATHAM – WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT (WWTP) IMPROVEMENTS: UV DISINFECTION SYSTEM REPLACEMENT.  

Notice is hereby given, that the Village of Chatham will accept sealed bids for upgrading equipment, including replacement of ultraviolet (UV) disinfection system process equipment, at the Village of Chatham Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), located at 13 Brookside Ave., Chatham, NY 12037.  Detailed drawings, plans, and specifications may be examined in person at the Chatham Village Hall, 77 Main Street, Chatham, NY or online through Eastern Contractors Association at (https://www.ecainc.org/) or through Dodge Data & Analytics at (https://www.construction.com).  Bidding and contract documents may be obtained from LaBella Associates at 4 British American Blvd., Latham, NY 12110.    For inquiries, or to request a bid specification packet, please contact LaBella Associates, Jackie Farrell at (518)-540-4934, ext. 7738.  Only bidders who register with LaBella Associates will receive notification of addenda. Heavy Trash Drop Off: May 20-23, 2024

Heavy Trash Drop Off for Village residents will be May 20-23, 2024 from 8am-2pm. Residents can sign up with the Village Clerk, Monday-Thursday, 9am-1pm and will be issued a one-time use voucher.  Trash load size is limited to equivalent of one pick-up truck load.  Items NOT accepted include Hazardous waste, chemicals, or any liquids, animal carcasses, firearms, ammunition or fireworks, asbestos, tires, appliances containing Freon, TV’s, computers, or any other office equipment.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING, VILLAGE OF CHATHAM ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS. Take notice that the Zoning Board of Appeals of the Village of Chatham, New York, will hold a public hearing on an application by Heena Patel, Application #2024-029: Tax Map #66.17-2-11; 52 Payn Ave, Chatham, NY.  Zoning Code Ch.110, Table 2, Density Control. Applicant seeks an area variance to create an undersized lot, 50-ft wide, when 60-ft width is required. The lot length is over 150-ft which would equate to a lot area of roughly 7800 sq ft.  Such hearing will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 7:00pm at the Tracy Memorial Village Hall, 77 Main Street, Chatham, NY 12037. LEAF AND YARD DEBRIS COLLECTION

Leaf and yard debris collection has begun and will run throughout the month of April.  The Village requests your use of biodegradable bags for leaves.  Please do not put twigs or sticks in the bags. 

Properly sized, bundled sticks and branches will be collected at a later time if they are placed at the curb next to the biodegradable bags.  Branches should be tied in bundles, and should be cut as follows: over 2” inch diameter – 2 feet long / under 2” in diameter – 4 feet long.

2024 Multi-Jurisdiction Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan – Planning Progress Update- Tighe & Bond

Columbia County is pleased to share a virtual presentation on April 10th 2024 from 6-8PM to discuss the County’s commitment to creating local resiliency to weather events such as extreme precipitation and flooding, severe winter weather, drought, extreme temperature, and other natural hazards associated with climate change.  Columbia County was awarded a grant from the New York State Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Services to update the County’s 2018 Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP) including all jurisdictions within the County.  The HMP update is currently in progress and this presentation will explain the scope of the grant work, review the potential risk and vulnerability of our facilities, infrastructure, vulnerable populations, and resources to natural hazards impacts within Columbia County. Discussions will include next steps to identifying mitigation actions to improve the resilience of the County and its jurisdictions to climate change impacts. There will be an opportunity for your input and questions after the virtual presentation.
