Notice of Permissive Referendum To Establish a “Specific” Capital Improvement Reserve Fund to be known as the “Village of Chatham Hudson & Houseman Avenues Water Main Reserve Fund”

PUBLIC NOTICE, Village of Chatham, New York, TAKE NOTICE that, pursuant to section 6-a of the New York General Municipal Law, a Resolution establishing a capital reserve fund entitled “Village of Chatham Hudson & Houseman Avenues Water Main Reserve Fund” was adopted by the Village of Chatham Board of Trustees on January 8, 2024. Such Reserve Fund is established to accumulate and set aside three hundred fifty thousand dollars ($350,000) for specific capital expenditures necessary for the Village of Chatham water system consisting of replacement of water main along Hudson Avenue from Church Street to Cemetery Hill and along the entire length of Houseman Avenue. The adoption of such Resolution to establish such Reserve Fund is subject to a permissive referendum, and the establishment of such Reserve Fund shall take effect February 8, 2024, unless, in accordance with Article 9 of the New York State Village Law, within thirty days after the adoption of the Resolution to establish such Reserve Fund there be filed with the Village Clerk a petition protesting against its adoption and requesting that it be submitted to the electors of the Village.
