46th Annual Ray Barbuti Turkey Trot

Thursday, November 24, 2022, Thanksgiving Day, the Morris Memorial Association will be hosting the 46th annual Ray Barbuti Turkey Trot. This low budget event is organized to include a youth mile and 5K road race. In years prior, some events have included over 400 participants. Registration for the event includes a non-perishable food item donation from each participant, and a small fee for all participants 18yrs and older. Participants under 18yrs will register at no cost. Non-perishable food items are organized and delivered to the Chatham Area Silent Food Pantry at the Tracy Memorial by students participating in the Morris’s free after school program.

Race courses:

1-Mile (9:00am – 9:30am): Runners and walkers begin the 1-mile course in front of the Morris Memorial, left onto Kindethook St, and turn around at the top of Pond Hill Road before returning the same way.

5K (10:00am – 10:45am): Runners and Walkers begin in front of the Morris Memorial, take a left onto Main St. and use the near side of the traffic circle to turn left onto Kinderhook St. Participants will continue all the way down Kinderhook St. and turn around at a large cone at the top of Pond Hill Rd. They will then take a right onto Shore Rd, left onto Eaton Ave and a right onto Woodbridge Ave. Before the railroad tracks, runners will turn right and follow the course down to the turn-around at the Chatham High School. On the return route, the course follows the same route, but turns right out of Shore Rd. back onto Kinderhook St. and otherwise returns to the finish line the same as the out-route.       Please follow the link below to view the 5K course map: https://www.plotaroute.com/route/970070?units=miles
