Community Input Needed- a request by the Police Reform & Reinvention Collaborative

The Police Reform & Reinvention Collaborative is a statewide initiative and mandate from the Governor’s office. The purpose of the New York State Police Reform and Reinvention Collaborative is “to foster trust, fairness and legitimacy” within communities throughout our State and “to address any racial bias and disproportionate policing of communities of color.” (Police Reform Workbook) It is also an opportunity to review and potentially improve the policing program in our community. Please take a few moments to give us your input about public safety and the Village of Chatham Police Department. Your input will help guide the Police Reform & Reinvention Collaborative and help shape our community in the future. The questionnaire will be available until January 4th, however input received before December 15th will be included in the report that will be presented to the Village Board the first week of January.  Please note: this questionnaire is only for people who 1) own property in the Village of Chatham (commercial or residential or commercial), 2) reside (renter or home-owner) in the Village of Chatham, and/or 3) operate a business in the Village of Chatham.

Please fill out the questionnaire using this link.

If you know of someone who would like to fill out a questionnaire but does not have access to a smartphone or a computer, please have them call the Village Hall at 518 392 5821 to arrange to get a hard copy. Handwritten surveys can be dropped off at the Village Hall in the locked mailbox by the front door.
